FabReady Drafting
Skid fabrication documents

Drafted from your spec. Ready for your seal.

We draft the 3D model, P&ID, isometrics, and bill of material for your skid from your line list and design basis. Every package is checked against your own documents before it reaches you, then goes to your engineer of record to review and seal.

What a package contains

Every document comes from one model of your skid, so the BOM, drawings, and 3D view cannot drift apart.

SheetDocumentWhat it is
01Bill of materialPipe by size and schedule, fittings, flanges, valves, and instruments. Excel format.
02P&IDDrafted from your markup and line list, with line numbers matching your list.
03Piping isometricsPer line, with cut lengths and a weld and fitting list.
04General arrangementPlan, elevations from every side, and isometrics, with structure, equipment, piping, and electrical shown as separate layers.
053D modelEquipment, piping, valves, and conduit in place, for layout review and fabrication planning.

Fictional skid, built for this page from simple shapes. The frame, supports, piping and conduit follow every change because they all come from one model. It is a picture, not a design check.

Sample drawings

One fictional skid, drafted the way a customer package would arrive: bill of material, P&ID with the skid battery limit, general arrangement from every side and by layer, piping isometrics per line, and the 3D model. Dimensions are left off these samples.

Sample P&ID of a fictional process skid: vessel V-101, pump P-101 and heat exchanger E-101 in a loop, with valves and instruments, in a formal title block.
Sheet 02 / P&IDSkid battery limit with feed and product tie-ins, equipment, valves, instruments and the line table.
Sample bill of material, sheet 1: equipment, pipe, fittings, flanges, gaskets and bolting with sizes, ratings, materials and standards.
Sheet 01 / BOM-01 Bill of materialEquipment, pipe, fittings, and every flange, gasket, and bolt set, each traced to its spec row and standard.
Sample bill of material, sheet 2: valves, instruments, electrical and structural items.
Sheet 01 / BOM-02 Bill of materialValves and specialties, instruments, panels, conduit, tray, and structural members by tag.
Sample general arrangement: plan, front and right elevations and an isometric of the fictional skid, all layers.
Sheet 04 / GA-01 General arrangementPlan, front and right elevations at one scale, plus an isometric, with the equipment and tie-in list.
Sample GA sheet with rear and left elevations and a south-west isometric.
Sheet 04 / GA-02 Other viewsRear and left elevations and the isometric from the opposite corner.
Sample GA sheet showing the skid isometric layer by layer: structure, equipment, piping, electrical and instruments.
Sheet 04 / GA-03 Isometric by layerStructure, equipment, piping, and electrical each drawn on their own, with the rest in grey.
Sample GA sheet showing the skid plan layer by layer.
Sheet 04 / GA-04 Plan by layerThe same layers in plan: steel, pipe routing, tray and conduit, instruments and equipment.
Sample piping isometric of the suction line L-100.
Sheet 03 / Isometric L-100Suction line from the vessel to the pump: elbows, ball valve and strainer, itemised.
Sample piping isometric of the discharge line L-101.
Sheet 03 / Isometric L-101Discharge line from the pump to the exchanger, with check valve and pressure transmitter.
Sample piping isometric of the return line L-102.
Sheet 03 / Isometric L-102Product line from the exchanger to the skid tie-in TI-2, with globe valve and temperature transmitter.
Sample piping isometric of the feed line L-103 from the skid tie-in to the vessel.
Sheet 03 / Isometric L-103Feed line from the skid tie-in TI-1, through the gate valve, to the vessel.

These are samples of a fictional skid. Official product will be verified against the standards your spec names. All drafts must be approved by the customer's engineering or EOR, and are not for construction unless otherwise approved. Customer packages also carry cut lengths and a fitting list on each isometric.

How it works

From your spec to a reviewed package

  1. STEP 1

    You send the spec

Line list, design basis, equipment list, nozzle data, and your skid envelope.

  2. STEP 2

    We check it is complete

You get a list of anything missing, in one message, before any work starts.

  3. STEP 3

    Fixed-price quote

Scope, what is included, and the number of revision rounds.

  4. STEP 4

    Draft and check

The model is built, then checked automatically and by a person.

  5. STEP 5

    Delivery

Your engineer of record reviews, marks up, and seals.

Checks before delivery

What gets caught before you see it

  • Every pipe, fitting, flange, gasket, bolt set, and valve is checked against the edition of each dimensional standard your specification names. Where it names none, we use the latest published edition. The edition used is recorded on every job.
  • Every BOM line traces to a row in your piping spec, with its material and rating. Anything your spec does not cover is flagged for you, never filled in by us.
  • Every line matches your line list: size, schedule, and material.
  • Every flanged joint carries a flange, gasket, and bolt set in the BOM, and tie-in items are marked as by others where they should be.
  • Pipe ends meet the nozzles and valves they connect to, within 2 mm, and each pipe leg is long enough to hold the elbow it meets.
  • Every instrument and motor has a conduit run back to a panel.
  • P&ID symbols and instrument tags follow the symbol standard and edition your specification names, or your own legend. Where it names none, we use the latest published edition.
  • The BOM quantities agree with the model. Any edit that breaks that is flagged.
  • Every design basis item is traced to a document you sent.

Scope

What we do and do not do

We draft

We turn your decisions into documents. Sizes, schedules, materials, ratings, and code editions come from your spec. If something is missing, we ask you. We do not pick a value to fill the gap.

We do not

  • Provide engineering design, review, or approval
  • Stamp, seal, or certify any document
  • Select pipe schedules, materials, or codes for you
  • Replace your engineer of record, who stays responsible for the design
